Leopoldine Chazeaud was born in France in 1982 and studied social and cultural anthropology there. After her studies, she decided to move to Germany, where she has lived for 20 years. She began painting at the age of 17.


2020 - Present:

Oil painting series On the Fragility of Earth’s Atmosphere

Depicting our atmosphere as the airspace on which our existence depends.

Inspired by the writings of philosopher Bruno Latour on “critical zones.”

 

"If the disconnection between the world we live in and the world we live from is really the cause of the disorientation mentioned above, then the remedy is clear: We should find ways to decrease the distance between the two worlds, so as to beginn our landing on earth - without crashing"

Depicting the transformative processes of nature.

The elements of water, sky, and earth merge in shades of blue. Nature is depicted in its overwhelming beauty, reflecting the soul.
